Eating More Calcium – it’s Good for your Teeth

Calcium is essential for bone development and healthy teeth. Adults should be eating around 700mg calcium a day. Most of us know that calcium is crucial for strong bones, but perhaps we don’t always associate it so directly with our dental health. Yet, your teeth are largely made of calcium phosphate, a hard mineral that gives them their strength and structure. Ensuring you get enough calcium helps to remineralise your enamel, which is constantly under attack from the acids produced by bacteria in your mouth.
